Stockings

"Of Christmas Past" from Inchmark.

I dream of sewing stockings for my future family, but it seems like it might be a project where I put so much pressure on myself to make them perfect, that I never attempt it at all.

But if my stockings looked half this good--I would consider it a success. I love the embroidered names under the cuff!!

Superhero Party

"Super Easy Super Hero Cape" by Regina of Creative Kismet found via Craftzine.com blog

Love this idea for a creative party craft. How cute would it be to have a superhero cape decorating party. With a blank applique and fabric markers, each child could decorate their own cape.

Anonymous Christmas Elf

"Psssst!" by Elizabeth from Write. Click. Scrapbook.

What a wonderful way to share the Christmas spirit! Every year she makes a mix CD of Christmas tunes and then leaves them at public places for unsuspecting people to find. Sometimes she even buys at Target gift card and leaves it on a shopping cart in the parking lot.

Last year Rob was gifted with a pay-it-forward Christmas surprise at the mall, and he thought it was so cool--one of the highlights of the season, in fact. I'd love to be a part of making someone's holiday bright.

With kiddos, they could even help brainstorm where you should leave the surprises, and then of course accompany you as you deliver them around town.

First Anniversary calendar

"Our First Anniversary" from Arlo Design.

Wishing that the cotton anniversary was as easy as the paper one. But, I do love this day-by-day calendar. My sister and I have a history of making calendars as gifts. This one is a grown-up version of the calendars we used to make.

Each day has something she loves about him. 365 is a lot of things. While I know that I love that many things about my husband, I also admire someone who takes the time to write them all down!

A couple of nifty mobiles have caught my eye lately. Some are perfect for a nursery and others would be lovely anywhere.

"Waldorf Doll #4" from Gihun's Flickr photostream.

Fabulous Outdoor Chalkboard

Fabulous Outdoor Chalkboard from The Creative Crate via Design Dazzle.

What an awesome idea! My sister and I would have had great fun pretending to teach "school" outside. And the turquoise is delish!!

"I just used a pre-cut 2'x4' piece of plywood, sanded it down, and covered it with chalkboard paint. The frame is made out of our left-over 1x6 cedar fence slats, which you can purchase very inexpensively at the lumber store. The frame, however, is anything but professional...but it worked! I used wood glue and a staple gun. I cut to size, then stapled both front and back of the wood to hold together! Then painted, and used wood fence screws to hold it securely on the fence."
